About Us

About Us:

Created in 2002, Colorado Rising Stars Lacrosse (CRS) is a family run organization created by Kristen Olson and is run by her and her brother, Todd.  Kristen and Todd both graduated from local Eaglecrest High School and have since been increasingly involved in the Colorado Lacrosse boom.

CRS LAX Staff…

The CRS Lax team lives lax! Each summer we gather a stellar group of lax coaches and coordinators to staff our summer lax events. CRS Lax directors, coordinators, supervisors, and coaches are experienced and knowledgeable in the game and world of lacrosse.  Our experienced staff features NCAA collegiate players and coaches as well as current professional lacrosse players.

Founders and Full Timers...

Kristen Olson (Founder and Senior Director)

As Colorado native and standout high school lacrosse player, Kristen traveled across the country to join the George Mason University (GMU) Women’s NCAA Division 1 Lacrosse program in Fairfax, Virginia .

Since 1999, GMU has consistently been ranked among the nations top Division 1 teams.  Kristen graduated in 2004 from GMU with a degree in communications.  She was a co-captain for two years and was quoted as “a tough and aggressive player…excellent leader…very confident athlete…a hard worker.”

Kristen has competed in international competition at the 2000 and 2007 Japanese Friendship Games and the 2004 Prague Cup (including competitions in London).  She is a member of the CWLA and continues to compete in post-collegiate tournaments, most recently in the Women’s Elite division of the Vail Shootout. Team CRSLAX.com place 2nd in the '09 Vail Shootout.

She continues to spread her passion for lacrosse in her sixth year as varsity head coach at Grandview High School.

Todd Olson (Senior Director)

As mentioned before, Todd began his lacrosse career at Eaglecrest High School where he received conference honors, was a senior captain, and member of the National Honor Roll.

Todd went on to play lacrosse at Herkimer Community College, the #1 Junior College in 2005, appearing in the 2005 NJCAA National Championship.

After receiving All-American honors and other accolades at Herkimer, Todd continued his career at #1 ranked Cornell University in New York. In 2007, the Cornell lacrosse team went on to the Final Four and Todd graduated with a degree Industrial and Labor Relations. Todd co-coached the first ever completive 8th grade Spartans team in 2008. Todd plays year round lacosse and competes with Team 21 in Vail annually.

Todd has been a key member of the CRS Lax team.  He is part of our success—directing and coaching at all camps, clinics, and tournaments we provide.

The Rest Of The Team:

Dad, Mom, and Brothers are also tied into the Mix...

Scott (Dad), played football at San Diego State, but was quickly sucked into the lax world like the rest of us. Scott coached the Spartans boy's youth team (Cody's team) for 3 seasons and even gave lacrosse a whirl for himself one season. You'll find Scott officiating our 3v3's and  helping with  all other event details.

Di (Mom), swam throughout high school and currently coaches swimming on a daily basis at Star Fish Swim School. Di is often the glue that keeps the lax events together, whether is manning the booths, registration, or handling other logistics.

Matt (Bro), is a Marine and currently overseas kicking butt and shaping lives. Matt played lacrosse all through high school and you will often find him ref-ing our Chumash 3v3 events… in addition to providing event security.

Cody (Bro), is the youngest and still very much under the wrath of his three older siblings. Cody played for the competitive 8th grade Spartan's team, coached by big brother Todd. This summer Cody will be playing and traveling with Colorado Select and competing in all of our events, of course! He currently attends Cherry Creek High School, competing with the Bruins football(#42) and lacrosse teams.
